As a GP Federation, we bring together NHS GP practices to deliver better healthcare services and support for our local community.
Brighton & Hove GP Federation is a practice-owned organisation working at city scale to strengthen general practice and support a sustainable health system for our communities.
Our purpose is to strengthen general practice and build towards a sustainable health system in Brighton & Hove.
General practice in Brighton & Hove is highly skilled, locally rooted and central to patient care. As healthcare becomes more complex, some challenges are best addressed collectively. The Federation provides a way for practices to work together, share infrastructure and coordinate delivery, while retaining local ownership and clinical leadership.
Our role is to deliver services at scale, reduce unnecessary duplication and manage shared risk, enabling investment to flow into primary care in a coordinated and credible way. We work closely with member practices, Primary Care Networks, the Integrated Care Board and system partners to develop practical solutions that support long-term financial, workforce and system sustainability.
We operate with agility and discipline, while remaining firmly aligned to NHS values. Any surplus we generate is reinvested locally to strengthen primary care, support the workforce and build long-term resilience across Brighton & Hove. We do not extract value for private gain.

What we do
We deliver citywide services and shared infrastructure that support general practice and enable coordinated working at scale.
Our work focuses on:
- Designing and delivering services where collaboration improves access, quality and sustainability
- Providing shared operational, digital and clinical infrastructure
- Reducing unnecessary duplication and managing shared operational and financial risk
- Supporting practices to focus on patient care while benefiting from collective solutions
We work closely with member practices, Primare Care Networks, the Integrated Care Board and system partners to develop practical, credible solutions that address real system pressures and support long-term sustainability, rather than short-term fixes.
