Statement on the Race Riots

We shared the nations sense of loss, grief, and shock at the events in Southport that so cruelly ended the lives of innocent children. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and the families affected by this tragic and heartbreaking event.

The subsequent actions of far-right mobs in stoking violence, destroying property and intimidating, harassing, and beating people, have left us equally shocked. We offer our utmost solidarity to our friends in our services and in the wider NHS in the face of these appalling acts. To those people of colour, and Muslims in particular who work with us, we thank you, we support you and we stand by you.

If there is anything you feel we need to do to ensure your working environment is as safe as possible please contact the delivery team through the Teams channel, or via our secure contact form.

Thank you, for everything you do to support and look after the people of Brighton and Hove.
